Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility Charges filed by Prosecutor

PENDLETON, IN - Madison County Prosecutor Thomas Broderick, Jr., filed formal criminal charges today against 4 public servants for the alleged misconduct with an offender incarcerated at the Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility. Prosecutor Broderick stated that the Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility is operated by the Indiana Department of Correction and houses an average daily population of 300 offenders.

Indiana State Police Offer Ice Safety Tips

PENDLETON, IN -  Lt. Bob Burke, Commander of the Pendleton Post, would like to remind citizens the extreme danger of iced over ponds and lakes and offer some safety tips. It is impossible to judge the strength of ice by its appearance, thickness, daily temperature, or snow cover alone. Ice strength is actually dependent on four factors: water depth under the ice, water area size, water chemistry, and load distribution on the ice.

Madison County Prosecutor Offering Women's Self Defense Class

PENDLETON, IN - On Thursday, April 23rd, as part of a continuing effort to advance the goals of Domestic Violence Awareness, Madison County Prosecutor Thomas J. Broderick Jr. will again be sponsoring a free self defense class for women with the goal of raising safety awareness which will include providing instructions on self defense techniques, the law surrounding self-defense, and information geared towards crime prevention to protect our citizens.

Annual Pizza Hut Invitation Saturday introducing a new format to the Indiana
high school diving community. The field of  girls and boys  from across the
state featured many of the state’s top 20 ranked divers.

State Police Increase Patrols over Holidays

 

PENDLETON, IN - The Indiana State Police would like to remind all motorists to do their part in making our highways safe during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.  In 2007 there were nine fatalities over the Christmas holiday period.  There were seven fatalities over the New Year period last year. 

The Christmas counting period this year is from 6 p.m. December 24 to 6 a.m. December 29. The New Years period is from 6 p.m. December 31 to 6 a.m. January 5, 2009.

Pendleton License Opens in New Downtown Location

Renovated retail space on Pendleton Street home to new branch

PENDLETON, IN - Ron Stiver,
Commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), today
officially opened the new Pendleton License Branch at 129 South
Pendleton Avenue in the historic downtown area. The branch has
relocated from 753 East Water Street.
