Biotech Facility Manufacturer to Site Design and Production Operations in Hendricks County

BROWNSBURG, IN - Biologics LLC, a maker of mobile modular biotechnology laboratory and manufacturing solutions, announced today that it will locate its headquarters, design and manufacturing facilities here, creating at least 50 new jobs by 2013. 

Biologics designs, builds and validates modular facilities for biotechnology firms and university research labs to lease while they transition from product feasibility to full-scale manufacturing.  The modules, built and tested to meet applicable FDA requirements, can be shipped anywhere in the world.

Daniels joins Kentucky Governor Beshear and Louisville Mayor Abramson About Bridges

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Governor Mitch Daniels today joined Governor Steve Beshear of Kentucky and Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson  in calling an organizational meeting of the Indiana-Kentucky Bi-State Authority, which is tasked with coordinating the efforts to finance and construct two new bridges connecting southeast Indiana with the Louisville metropolitan area.

U.S. 31 completion schedule for Kokomo moves up

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Governor Mitch Daniels said the Kokomo segment of the U.S. 31 Corridor project has been accelerated and should open to traffic at the end of 2013, two years earlier than scheduled, and all but the southern portion of the U.S. 31 Corridor project will be completed by the end of 2014.

Swiss Aviation Company to Expand, Add Jobs in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Governor Mitch Daniels joined executives from Comlux Completion USA, an international aviation company that refurbishes and completes interiors for corporate aircraft, last Thursday, July 23, to announce the company's plans to expand its Indianapolis operations, a move that is expected to create 480 new jobs over the next five years.

Dow AgroSciences to Grow Biotechnology Research Operations

INDIANAPOLIS, IN  - Dow AgroSciences announced last week it will expand its biotechnology research operations here with a new facility providing research space for 100 new biotechnology scientists.

The agriculture-based company has signed a 15-year lease on an 80,000 square-foot building which will accommodate laboratories and offices and will be constructed adjacent to Dow AgroSciences' global headquarters in northwest Indianapolis.

Governor Signs Golf Cart Ordinance Bill

INDIANA STATEHOUSE - Local officials may now enact ordinances allowing residents to drive golf carts in their communities. Gov. Mitch Daniels signed House Enrolled Act 1483 Tuesday afternoon.

"The ordinance will allow residents to operate golf carts on the municipal streets or private roads, or both,” said Rep. Bill Davis (Portland). “This has been a heavily debated issue in my district, and we have worked to give local governments the control to decide if they want to adopt the ordinance for their community."

Governor Daniels Signs Bill Honoring the Late Senator David Ford

 

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - On April 21, 2009, Indiana Governor Daniels signed Senate Enrolled Act 27 that will rename Indiana's educational technology after the late State Senator David Ford, a former Blackford County legislator who died March 5, 2008, after suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Daniels: Summer Program to Hire 2,000 Young Adults

 

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels today announced the state will hire 2,000 young adults to spend this summer and next improving Indiana's parks, trails and natural habitats. The program, called the Young Hoosiers Conservation Corps, will use federal stimulus funds designated for employment and training of people 16 to 24 years old.
