ANDERSON, IN - At a meeting of the Anderson Redevelopment Commission on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, a purchase agreement was executed on a key parcel of land once occupied by General Motors. The parcel is located at 2900 E. Scatterfield Road, and was known as Plant 18. The $425,000 agreement was presented by Stan and Teresa Lay of Hy-Tech Machining and approved unanimously by the Anderson Redevelopment Commission.

ANDERSON, IN - The first of two new
Dunkin' Donuts coming to Anderson before the end of the year is
scheduled to open at 5 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2008.
The newly opening Dunkin' Donuts is
located at 14th and Jackson in downtown Anderson. The second
restaurant at 4431 S. Scatterfield Rd. is scheduled to open
mid-December.

ANDERSON, IN - As part of 'Character Counts Week' in Anderson, Crime Watch put together a large block party for after the annual Character Counts parade. At the festivities, Don Peslis, director of the Center for
Character Development at Anderson University, was named a Distinguished Hoosier.
The honor, bestowed by Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, was presented to Peslis by Senator Tim Lanane and Representative Terri Austin.

ANDERSON, IN - The Anderson Municipal Airport will be the site of a live, static rocket engine test on Saturday, October 11, as the University of Dayton Advanced Rocket Team (UDART) completes static testing of its kerosene-liquid oxygen systems. Anderson based AirBuoyant is the corporate sponsor of the creation of the UDART Rocket.
City of Andersen Dedicates Upgraded Water Pollution Control Plant Filtration Facilities
ANDERSON, IN - Mayor Kris Ockomon
cut the ribbon at a ceremony to officially dedicate the upgraded effluent
filter facilities at the Gene Gustin Way Water Pollution Control Plant.
Members of the Board of Works and City Council, which approved this project to
improve the city’s infrastructure, joined the Mayor
and other guests, including representatives from the design firm Greeley and
Hansen and the contractor M.K. Betts Engineering and Contracting, at the August
6th ceremony.

ANDERSON, IN - Governor Mitch Daniels joined executives from Nestlé USA
today to announce the company's plans to expand its 880,000
square-foot beverage production facility here, creating nearly 135
new jobs by 2011.
The company, which is on track to begin full
production at the central Indiana
facility later this year, will invest $200 million to add
additional beverage production and distribution capacity at the
190-acre site located approximately 45 miles northeast of Indianapolis.

ANDERSON, IN - Richard Mort and the Mort Family have been selected by Mayor
Kris Ockomon as recipients of the Chief Anderson award, the highest honor bestowed
by the City of Anderson.
The Chief Anderson award recognizes extraordinary leadership that serves to
positively impact Anderson’s
future.
“Mr. Mort and his family were
instrumental in shepherding development to the Southern edge of Anderson, beginning with
the location of Interstate 69, and continuing even today with the announcement

Ockomon announced today the addition of a new business to
Anderson’s local economy. The company, AGAPE, LLC, is a start up
company that will immediately employ 75 people in the call center industry and
intends to grow to 400 employees within one year.
