Swiss Aviation Company to Expand, Add Jobs in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Governor Mitch Daniels joined executives from Comlux Completion USA, an international aviation company that refurbishes and completes interiors for corporate aircraft, last Thursday, July 23, to announce the company's plans to expand its Indianapolis operations, a move that is expected to create 480 new jobs over the next five years.

Nominations and Applications Open for Business Awards Program

 

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Nominations and applications for the second annual Indiana Companies to Watch awards program, highlighting some of the state's top privately held companies, will open today.

Presented by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, its Small Business Development Center network (SBDC), Purdue University and the Edward Lowe Foundation, Indiana Companies to Watch recognizes privately held Indiana businesses that employ six to 150 full-time employees and have between $750,000 to $100 million in annual revenue or working capital.

State Selects Lawyer, Developer for Economic Post

 

INDIANAPOLIS, IN  - Chad Pittman, a lawyer and veteran land developer, will join the state's economic development team Monday as executive vice president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.

Pittman joins the state's job hunting agency following a year-long deployment to Iraq with the Indiana Army National Guard and a more than three-year stint as a corporate land developer with Indianapolis-based homebuilder C.P. Morgan.

International Display Developer to Expand Its Southern Indiana Operations

JEFFERSONVILLE, IN - Retail display designer and manufacturer idX announced plans yesterday to expand its production and distribution operations here, creating more than 150 new jobs in the next three years.

The St. Louis-headquartered company, which provides retail, hospitality and financial customers with services ranging from display development to managing the construction of new stores, will invest more than $2.7 million to expand its 420,000-square-foot facility in the southern Indiana city located just north of Louisville.

Greenwood Company Takes Top Prize in Venture Idol Competition

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A Greenwood company's new data storage technology earned the top prize of $10,000 today in the 2008 Indiana Venture Idol competition at the Indiana Historical Society here.

Greenwood-based Scale Computing edged out 20 challengers in the afternoon-long competition that put company executives through a series of company presentations and questions in front of a live audience of more than 200 investors and business owners that voted to select this year's winner.

OHL to Expand Its Plainfield Logistics Operations

PLAINFIELD, IN - Global supply chain solutions provider OHL announced today it will expand its operations here, creating up to 120 new jobs and new training opportunities for its 400-person central Indiana workforce.

The company, one of the largest third-party logistics providers in the world, will invest more than $11.3 million at its 3.2 million square-foot Plainfield campus and use a $200,000 grant from the state's Skills Enhancement Fund to provide advanced training to its expanding workforce
